John Franks joins us to manage the Claims department of the business, find out more about John below.
What is your role at Erskine Murray? I am Head of Claims. I will oversee the claims proposition for our offices, what we are delivering to our clients, and what we expect from insurers.
What attracted you to the role at Erskine Murray? After spending many years in larger brokers, where influence was minimal due to extended hierarchy, Erskine Murray came across as a real opportunity to influence the claims service provided to our clients.
What skills and experience can you bring to the role? I have nearly 20 years’ experience in insurance claims, mostly in brokers but also with insurers. I also have a CII Diploma qualification in Insurance and a bachelor’s degree. I feel I have good people management and IT skills.
Do you have any particular niche or insurance specialism? I spent many years dealing with heavy industry risks, foundries, forges and metal workers with high EL/Disease claim frequency.
What are your personal objectives? I want Erskine Murray to continue to grow and become a force in insurance broking, known for service excellence through great staff and excellent insurer partnerships.
How would you describe yourself as an individual? A friendly, laid-back family man with an analytical mind, but competitive nature.
Before working at Erskine Murray, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had? Whilst I was a student, I had the ideal student job. I was deputy manager of a Threshers off license. Although the pay was not great, the product discounts for my friends and I practically subsidised our education.
In three words, sum up your jobTeamwork, unpredictable, valuable.
Welcome to the team, John!
